Hi, I’m Britney Chacey.

I’m a licensed therapist serving adults & couples in the Greater Richmond Area.

And, I know how vulnerable it feels to reach out for therapy.

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. Opening up to someone new? Terrifying. Going deep into the stuff you've been avoiding? Even scarier.

I get it. I've been on both sides of this work, and I want you to know that those feelings are completely normal.

You deserve acceptance, compassion, and unconditional love.

(And don't forget joy and pleasure!)

I won't lie to you–this work isn't always easy. There will be ups and downs along the way. But I'll be right there with you through all of it, celebrating the breakthroughs and holding space for the harder moments.

We might be a great fit if you're:

  • Curious to learn more about yourself and the patterns that shape your relationships

  • Ready to look at long-standing patterns in your life and take ownership of what you can change

  • Wanting healthier boundaries (no more people pleasing, perfectionism, or feeling like you need to fix everything)

  • Willing to practice new ways of communicating and handling conflict

  • Looking to build deeper trust with yourself and in your relationships

My Story

I was that kid who loved watching people and trying to figure out what made them tick. I felt emotions very deeply. I was naturally the friend people came to with their problems, always the "giver" in relationships. I enjoyed hearing about people’s concerns and struggles, and I began to hone my listening skills. Looking back, I'd say I was an empath or highly sensitive person before those terms were widely known.

I went on to study psychology and sociology in college. I stumbled into social work almost by accident during an internship. The moment I stepped into that world, I knew I'd found my calling.

The real learning came later, though.

As an adult, I've lived through marriage, raising two children, starting a business, divorce, and remarriage. Each of these experiences taught me something different about resilience, growth, and what it means to truly know yourself.

But here's the thing that changed everything: I did my own deep inner work. I had to, in order to show up as the partner, parent, and therapist I wanted to be.

I've sat in the client chair for individual therapy, couples therapy, and ketamine-assisted therapy. I know firsthand what it feels like to be vulnerable in that space, to dig into the parts of yourself that need care and attention.

I understand how scary and hard it can be, and also how transformative.
